Minimalist portrait
Fadi Zeneldin's portrait practice reduces the face to its minimum viable line. Each figure is drawn in a single unbroken contour, with one enlarged eye carrying the whole weight of expression while the rest of the head falls away into flat colour. The result is a quiet, museum-quality minimalist portrait — less a likeness than a study in gaze, presence and silence.
One line, one eye
The eye is the motif. Enlarged, isolated, sometimes doubled across overlapping heads, it does the work the mouth and brow usually do. Built from acrylic on canvas in a restrained palette — bone white, terracotta, deep teal, black — each minimalist portrait is drawn rather than painted, the line kept continuous wherever possible so a figure can be read in a single gesture.
